8 Documentaries Movies About Global Warming

I believe that movies can not only make us entertain and have fun, but movies can also educate us and tell useful things that can not be told through the books. If books could be windows of the world, let alone movies? Not just motivational films and biographical films based on true stories, but documentaries can also educate us even though some of us may not be too fond of documentary genre movies. I am one of those people who really like documentary movies.

Here are some documentaries on global warming, extinction, and things we need to know about this Earth and the dangers that threaten it.

1. An Inconvenient Truth (2006)

This film will tell you clearly about the true danger of global warming. How much longer can the world survive the ferocious global warming? You will be shocked when you know the answer. It's not impossible that this movie can make you stress and fear. You would not have thought that the little things you did could have a major impact on the earth. In my opinion, you must watch this movie at least once in your life. Although there are some people who think that this issue is false and contains political elements.

2. An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power (2017)

A decade has passed after the film An Inconvenient Truth (2006) aired. Lots of changes have occurred since the movie aired. Among these are community awareness and global attitude change to deal with all of this. A sequel is back, continued from previous films about the follow-up and progress to tackle climate change issues and Al Gore's efforts to convince governments that an energy revolution can happen. The film will culminate in the signing of the crucial Paris Climate Agreement 2016.

3. Home (2009)

The film will feature air footage from fifty-four countries, the Home (2009) movie is a depiction of how all the problems on Earth can be intertwined. Maybe you never would have thought how a movie can greatly affect the lives of people, like this movie. If you like the documentary titled "Planet Earth", you will also like this movie. A heartbreaking film that can make you angry and sad at the same time. From Home (2009) movie we can learn and awaken the world about our extinction.

4. Racing Extinction (2015)

This film not only tells about global warming, but also tells us about various aspects that can cause our extinction. About how many species of living things are extinct from the air, land, to the ocean. What's interesting about this movie is, it said that this Earth has experienced five times extinction or doomsday. Among the five extinctions, there is one thing that always happens, that is the increase of carbon dioxide that causes the ozone layer began to fade from the surface of the Earth.

Not only that, but scientists say that actually we are too late to improve the current condition of the Earth. All we can do is delay our extinction. But maybe we hope that there will be a solution of technological and scientific development to find answers for all of this.

5. GasLand (2010)

This documentary film tells in detail about the treatment of Natural Gas Corporation that endangers Planet Earth and the American population. GasLand is a very surprising and important movie. An energy company managed to develop a way to extrude gas from the soil by a hydraulic drilling process called "fracking" - and suddenly since then America became an energy superpower.

The most shocking question for all Americans... can your water that comes from your house tap can light a fire? Of course there are people who disliked this movie, but actually there are many people who support and say that this film is absolutely true.

6. The 11th Hour (2007)

About the climate change of the global environment and practical visionary solutions to restore the planet's ecosystem. Thanks to Leonardo DiCaprio for taking the time and funding for this amazing documentary. After displaying dire images of the Earth, the film also discusses the root causes of various powerful sources. The 11th Hour (2007) also invites us to change the world. Whether it's by talking, sharing this news, and started to act.

7. Chasing Ice (2012)

A National Geographic photographer named James Balog went the Arctic to install a time-lapse camera designed for one purpose: recording glaciers from year to year that changed the world. James Balog was a skeptic person who does not believe in issues about global warming and extreme climate change. But after conducting his own survey, James finally found undeniable evidence about our planet that changed drastically.

8. Before the Flood (2016)

It seems that Leonardo loves to spread the word about global warming and protect the environment. The film is not much different from some of the movies above, about how climate change affects the whole world and how to cope with it all. The film contains a variety of ways that governments and communities can do to prevent the extinction of various species of living things, the destruction of ecosystems and the entire population of the Earth.
